B
ipolar disorder, also known as manic-depressive illness, affects millions
of Americans. The disorder has a significant impact on those who suffer
from the illness. Different from the normal ups and downs that everyone
goes through, the symptoms of bipolar disorder are severe, and they
often
leave individuals reeling, searching for solutions from theraptists,
psychiatrists and other mental health professionals. Support groups
provide an opportunity for those with bipolar disorder to learn from
others who have walked in their shoes, had similar experiences, felt
the same emotions and gone through similar trials.
Our support groups provide individuals with the opportunity to share and grow from each other in a safe, confidential and welcoming environment.
The Centreville Bipolar Support Group is DBSA-Northern Virginia's oldest and most established group.
