B ipolar
disorder, also known as manic-depressive illness, and depression affect millions of Americans.
These disorders have a significant impact on those who suffer from these illnesses. Different from
the normal ups and downs that everyone goes through, the symptoms of depression and bipolar disorder
are severe, and they often leave individuals reeling, searching for solutions from theraptists,
psychiatrists and other mental health professionals. Support groups provide an opportunity for
those with depression or bipolar disorder to learn from others who have walked in their shoes,
had similar experiences, felt the same emotions and gone through similar trials.
Our support groups provide individuals with the opportunity to share and grow from each other in a safe, confidential and welcoming environment.
The Centreville Depression and Bipolar Support Group is DBSA-Northern Virginia's oldest and most established group.
